Has anyone heard of a 1956 D/D penny. I found one on ebay and never heard of it before so i thought i would ask.

    Yes and there are many different varieties of it. I had a 1956 D/D cent that was very pronounced and easy to see with the mint mark doubled as proficient as a 1955/55 double die.(sold it a few years ago on eBay-wish i would have kept it) Most are not this easy to see. It is listed in the Red Book also--Bob image

    I only have a red book reference. The 2007 red book lists it at $75.00 in MS65. $35 in MS63. But who knows what price a true auction will bring? Bobimage

    56D is a great year to search- There are many nice ones. Here are a couple to look for.
