Overall, do you prefer the obverse or the reverse?

With some exceptions (like seated coinage and 2c pieces) the obverese consists mostly of a portrait.
The obverse seems to be more important and can carry a coin into a higher grade.
But usually the best looking design on the coin is on the reverse.

For most coins I agree the obverse is nicer. Flying Eagle Cents have the neat eagle on the obverse, the reverse is OK but not as good as the obverse. The same can be said for many designs. The eagle on the reverse of a Walking Liberty half is awesome, but that obverse Walking Liberty design is even nicer, IMO.
One exception are all the state quarters where the interesting state design is on the reverse and the boring Washington portrait is on the obverse. Of course this exception is not an exception if we consider Washington to be the reverse, but I don't because he always used to be the obverse ever since 1932.

The obverse is the front. The reverse is the back. That works for coins and other things too.
The name is LEE!
