I picked up one of these but it only goes through nickels. Is there another volume? Or is that the one people mention that is in a state of limbo? I am interested in a similar text for silver dollars and all gold coins.

it's a running joke.
JT Stanton pissed around for years while having numerous prepayments for the book. He failed to refund my money much less answer emails after NUMEROUS requests.
Whitman has taken over and God only knows when it'll be out now.
do a search on Cherrypicker or CHerrypickers on this forum if you want to brush up on the saga.
I think volume the 3rd edition covered all denominations, but the 4th edition (the current edition) was so information intensive that it had to be broken into 2 volumes. Volume 1 was released a long time ago, but the second volume (dimes through gold) was never completed. If you can get ahold of one of the 3rd editions, it will provide some information that you are looking for. Check eBay or Amazon.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Your response is incomplete... what year is the august ANA being held in Denver?

At least that is the latest promise. But so far Whitman has missed at least three promised release dates so far as well. A few more and they'll catch up with JT.
