I think I got stung in the Clean Sweep auction. I was the only bidder on a lot at closing time and then 10 minute rule started. Found out this morning three more bids came from "VIP Bidders". A vip bidder being someone that has placed ten bids. He can then bid on anything anytime. Why have the ten minute rule. Anyone else have this happen and what other auction houses have this rule?

Steve Verkman runs some nice auctions....and although I don't like the VIP rule...it is clearly spelled out on his site...

From what I have seen is that people get outbid on an item and then start to cherry pick other stuff that they hadn't bid on yet. Like...let's see...I got outbid on a $3500 set...hmmmm...I still have the $3500 to play with....let's see what's hanging around!!

The auctions usually end at 2:00 - 3:00 am.....It stinks to go to bed figuring you've got something locked...only to wake up to utter frustration!! Been there, done that!!

All in all...I wish I had the kind of money Steve throws into the hobby!!
