he is better then lima i can say that much.
mets look like they will be there at the end this year.
Seriously though, it was a good move - any pitcher would be happy to get the hell out of the desert - by far the best hitter's park in the NL, and right up there with Arlington for all-around hitter's parks (Coors is no longer a hitter's park since they've been doctoring the baseballs by storing them in humidors).

But, I also think the Cards are the team to beat out of the NL. But I think out of all the teams, the Mets can give them the hardest comp.
Mark Mulder rookies
Chipper Jones rookies
Orlando Cabrera rookies

<< <i>I guess if you have an ERA over 5 you fit right in with either NY team. Good fit for him I can count on half a hand how many good outings he had for the Sox last year, folks only remember the inning he pitched in Boston. It was hardly emblamatic of what he did all year. >>
It cracks me up when fans like you watch your team crap out for 10 or 20 years, then you have a good season finally and feel the need to laugh at other teams. It would take ALOT more than one hand to count the number of years the White Sox pitching staff was junk. Simple fact, the Mets have some injuries, needed a guy, and found someone who may not be top of the line anymore, but certainly can provide experience and help when its needed.

Hey dillweed I've been Chisox and Cub fan since the 50's, I am used to crappy seasons. An honest evaluation of the NY pitching staffs has nothing do with whom I root for or against. Take a cheap shot if you want the numbers speak for themselves. When my friend is the last time the Mets had a decent starting staff top to bottom? The Yanks haven't needed it because they have top to bottom the best position players in either league.
I suggest before you dream up someone's motivation the next time use your brain instead of your own inbred bias. Or can only someone comment if they are a fan of a team that has won 1 series, 5 series, 10 series etc. Well which is it? I'll await another brilliant observation from you.
2000 mets had a nice staff.
this year its banged up
pedro glavine solid. trax is a normal 10-10 starter. soler looked great after the first innings jitters last night. bannister will be back. pelfrey will be ready by july.
duque will help. i see him moved to the pen by august

Was there any need for the laugh when talking about the Mets or Yankees staff ? Do you NOT think that was an uneccessary cheap shot ?
To my " brain " that seemed like a cheap shot, and I think everyone else, fan or not would agree that throwing the laughing icon in there was motivation for a cheap shot. If you were genuinly giving an honest observation there are ways to go about it and ways not to. For the record, I am not a Mets fan, I just didnt appreciate someone who had to throw in the laugh like you did, which no matter how you want to look at it, was NOT the way to give an honest evaluation.
