I can't believe this dealer's statement!!!!

While searching for DMPL Morgans on ebay, I ran into this listing and I can't believe that an "experience dealer" would even make the statement that "NICEST MORGAN I EVER SAW AS A DEALER - MUST SEE". I honestly couldn't stop shaking my head.

UNBELIEVABLE DMPL CAMEO 1880-S MORGAN DOLLAR - NR!

Nice to know that a seller considers a coin that's AU-50 on a decent day to be the best they ever saw. Especially for a date and mintmark that's common as dirt even in MS-65.

  • this is from the auction description LOL. I give him an A+ for the schtick and the bravado... and F for the product....

""The old timer from whom I purchased it added MS-65 DMPL "SAVE". My opinion of the coin is that MS-65 DMPL is a very conservative grade. The coin is clearly a cameo on both sides with natural toning. Man, I simply don't know how to describe this coin. I can just tell you that no picture in the world can do justice to something like this.""

even more impressive....someone has a bid on this future piece of melted silver!

Unbelievable the seller could locate an 1880-S that was such a dog. Even more unbelievable is that he would compound the idiocy of having bought that bourse bench warmer by paying eBay listing fees to appear as a public moron.

I'd only do no refunds on PCGS/NGC certified coins. Pretty much the rest of them are too subjective to know what your really getting.

Notice that this seller gave this bidder this positive feedback from a previous purchase.

Fantastic buyer! Awesome transaction! Wish all could be like this Thanks MUCH A+

The bidder also has made bids on this sellers other coins. Looks to me by bidding, he is encouraging others to follow up on his bids.

I would say it's definitely unc imo, not whizzed, but certainly not a MS65 and not any shade of PL. Could be a MS62 to 64...and possibly worth $20-$35.

All the seller has managed to do is lose face with everyone on the planet, that's all. Either the coin is a beauty and the photography leaves much to be desired or GREED has caused the so-called Dealer to take complete leave of his or her senses.

At barely over $50 at present, it would seem that the former has transpired. image
