I CHECK AND I WAS BIDDING 3.99 WHEN THAT HAPPEN AND NOT 10.50. I EMAIL YOU RIGHT AWAY. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN, I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I DID LEAVE A OPEN BID. MY DAD AND I CHECK IT OUT LIKE I SAID AND I LEFT THE BID OPEN.
EMAIL AND LET MEKNOW WHAT IS GOING ON.

  • I can honestly say that after reading a post like that, the Internet Generation just became a little bit dumber.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

In all fairness this could be a kid. If it's an adult then yeah, it's a little sad.
  • is it just me or can you hear a distinct Oriental tone to that note??

what you say Joe? I get refund??
  • Please let us know the name?
  • So many idiots, so few bullets...........
  • Oh, there's more . . .

I DID NOT MEAN TO BID 399 DOLLARS. I WAS BIDDING
3.99. PLEASE TAKE OFF THE AMOUNT. I CAN'T RETRACT BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ENOUGHT TIME. I AM VERY SORRY. I DON'T WANT AT THAT PRICE AND I CAN AFFORD. IT WAS AT ACCIDENT. PLEASE UNDERSTAND, AND I THINK YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING LIKE THIS ALSO. PLEASE EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I get these playing dumb idiots all the time! Blaming "their kid who is a good boy", etc. I always make them retract their own bids so at least it shows in their history !! Most of the time, they are trying to see where the current bid max is !!!image
My focus, 1970 Topps Baseball Raw and Graded, pre 1989 PSA Hockey and 1933 INDIAN GUM ! Yikes!!
  • Speaking of using your kid for a excuse...

I bought a PSA 7 Gretzky RC on Naxcom $1. Their kid posted it.

On ebay recently seller has 6 2000 Bowman Draft Picks sets (top card possible auto. BV $350)
He said all sets were opened but unsearched. I asked why the plastic was removed but sets not opened. Said his 3 year old did it.

Though my youngest when around 5 did open one of my Star Wars figures. Figure still sits on my dresser. Never played with. Im not cruel as he has 100+ figures.

Aside from the bidder being mildly illiterate, these mistakes happen all the time. An incorrect decimal suddenly causes a $3.99 bid to be $399, or what have you. Frankly, dealing with this guy after he wins the auction will further degenerate the experience, so it's better for you both if you just cancel his bid, and then add him to your blocked bidders list.
  • Guy says he bid $4 and its at $10 and he cannot afford. If $6 is gonna break you... you need to collect rocks or something else thats free.

It most likely is a child. When I was a kid, my allowance was 4 bucks a week, so the difference between $4 and $10 would have been great. Kids are not supposed to be on eBay, but we all know that's just not enforceable, especially when their parents let them use the accounts.

    Yes, probably a kid.

However Dad did not proof read his message so it's Dad's bad.

Unless they are from Kentucky. image
  • I say if the Dad lets his kid use his account the kid should be accountable for his actions. Unless that extra $6 was to be used for hooked on phonics.
