What's up with my icon?

I uploaded a new icon on the designated day and everything was fine for a while. Then it suddenly went red X on me for no good reason. I switched back to my old icon which works. What the devil happened to my new one?

    Was it a "babe icon"?
Mine had worked for a month, but then some numbnutz went and added stupid icons, got busted, and others were looked at. Carol said there was a "no babes" icon rule implemented awhile ago (though, older ones were exempt from the new rule).

So, because some people want to push sophomoric behaviour and always try to get away with stuff, others suffer. Not sure what your icon was though Scott.....if it was a good looking woman, even a head shot, it is likely nuked.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Bochiman, I found your ex-icon to be perfectly within the bounds of good taste (and I certainly didn't mind seeing it). As far as my icon being a babe, no dice. It was a head shot of Elvis Costello from a live tv appearance in 1978.

I don't know if maybe there are copyright laws at issue or something, but if my icon's disappearance was a case of "death from above" it would have been nice to at least be told.

    The mystery continues.

I guess people with those barebreasted Type 1 SLQ icons better watch their backs.

All uploaded icons go into a common directory, and are not attached uniquely to any username, even that of the original uploader or current user(s). Thus, you would not recieve a notice if the file was deleted. It simply would be, deleted.

  • I got a PM from David_R the friendly administrator just before 10 PM saying he may be able to shed some light on the subject. He just asked for the file name in question. We'll see what happens.
