If you are planning to sell, you have a 99% chance that you will lose money on it by certifying.
* 1901 is the most common of all Victorian dates in the series - it's the death year and everyone at the time saved a nice example of the piece. They can be found raw for very cheap. Heck, they are cheaper than anything after that date until 1936!!
* If the coin does not go MS66 or better (no chance of this happening IMO), you are practically guaranteed not to make the money back.
* A full red example is catalogued at £15 (about $27) in Spink. This is not full red. Brits will not buy anything of this date less than full red.
If you are planning to keep the piece and want it as part of a "registry set," the above info is still valid but it's not about making your money back. That said, even 10 years from now, you won't make your money back, even at the economy submission rate which still amounts to $17-$20 per coin, factoring in the formidable shipping charges.
Thanks again,MoJo
