VAM grades just received . . . .

Got the following VAM grades today; all were submitted in unattributed PCGS holders, so the grades were not really in doubt, just the VAM numbers; the coins on lines 1-4 are all the highest graded by PCGS, and the coin on line 4 is the lone UNC VAM 220 (so far).

1 05468818 1878 8TF $1 VAM 1 USA MS63PL
2 21769222 1878 8TF $1 VAM 22 USA MS64
3 03167075 1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878 VAM 31 USA MS64
4 11152690 1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1879 VAM 220 USA MS61
5 11152683 1880 $1 8/7 Overdate VAM 6 USA AU58
6 11152688 1882-O/S $1 O/S Strong VAM 3 USA MS62
7 05295443 1886-S $1 S/S VAM 2 USA MS64PL

Not trying to rain on your parade, but I have a 8TF VAM 1 PCGS-64 PL.

You can call it whatever you like. I call it a statement of fact. I don't need to put my set in the PCGS registry either. What is that if not the need to boast?

I do it to educate..... that's why I have the links to my pictures... to help people attribuite what they may have or get them interested in collecting them...

Boasting is fine... put up your own post with a pic.(we all do it). Dont use someone elses post to boast what you have. They've worked hard to get to this point let them enjoy it. The last thing they want to hear is a "haha" from you. You're out of line... Take it somewhere else...

Very nice group. I have a good 18 or 20 cherried slabs to go out to the variety service. A few good 1878 ones among them: a VAM-2A in high grade (forget if it was gem or what) a VAM-21 in 64PL and a VAM-22A in 64. Does your VAM-22 have the clashing? I was hoping they would start attributing at least the clashed 8TF or list coins by now. It's not like that would be all that difficult to do.

I am a point above your 86-S/S (65PL). I think that might be the date where there was a Jack Lee of the variety in 66PL, but I may be wrong there. Nonetheless, did you see the value of the 64PL on Fey's current Top-100 sheet? I almost plotzed when I saw that.

Neat coins Joe! Where did you manage to find that 220?
    When in doubt, don't.

Quite a nice group. The 1887-S VAM-4 is very tough in 64!

I assume the VAM-220 was that Heritage ICG coin I lost on. Congradulations.

    Thanks!
Yes, the VAM 220 was the unattributed ICG Heritage coin.
No, I didn't see the 86-S VAM 2 MS64PL price listed --what was it? (My guess is $1500)

$3,220. I communicated with Michael Fey the day it came in the mail. It is based on a real trade. Unless that coin was clearly undergraded or full DMPL, it made me really wonder what my PCGS 65PL S/S might bring.
