A Few Words About My Morgan Dollar Purchasing Selection Criteria:
I have been collecting Morgan Dollars for the past 35 years, and have hand selected each of these coins for my personal collection. Please refer to my PCGS SBG Morgans PL/DMPL Registry Set to see digital photographs of examples the high quality Morgan Dollars that I collect.
My preference is to select high eye-appealing coins, typically MS-64 and above, with some extra "pop" such as Prooflike or Semi-Prooflike fields with some contrasting cameo frosty devices. I think that cameo contrast Morgans are far more attractive than totally frosty coins.
I prefer to purchase and collect coins that are solid to high-end for their respective grade, and always avoid overgraded coins. My personal grading "sweet spot" is for MS-64 PL Morgans, which I feel are aesthtically pleasing, and provide high eye-appeal at reasonable market prices.
