  • I'd guess that they graded it PF63BN, but I think it looks MUCH, MUCH better. Nice coin!

A lot of crumy words precluded by the word "holy" enter my mind. Kudos to Mark on those fantastic pics of an absolutely !@#$!@#$!@ gorgeous coin.

    PR68?

edited: noticed a couple of nicks on Lincoln: Downgrading to PR67

    PR65BN?

Edited to add: I deducted for light spots on each side, a bit of dullness and the (edited to) uneven color/minor discoloration on both sides. Additionally, with respect to some of other guesses thus far - PR63 sounds too tight and PR67 sounds too loose.image

Now that is what a Lincoln Cent should look like. Amazing detail has been struck up on that proof coin. It is a true work of art.

Since I guessed PR65BN, I obviously also thought the coin would have graded higher than PR63. That said, we didn't have the (necessary) advantage of examining the coin in person as the NGC graders did. Because of that and their expertise, they definitely deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Nice coin. Why did you submit it to NGC and not PCGS?

"Coin collecting problem"? What "coin collecting problem"?

my guess from the image would have been pf65 bn, it sure looks like a lot of coin for a 63.
  • I would have guessed 65 BN but I can't the coin see in person. From experience I know not to buy any raw coins on ebay. Sometime pics can hide hairlines, marks or even a cleaning.

I would have said 65BN. I'm not sure what NGC saw in it, because I didn't see any hairlines when I had it and my pics tend to pics them up pretty well. It has a bit subdued luster and surfaces but it is very clean otherwise.

  • The coin looks better than a 3, and the photo is a 69* IMO
