I'm typing this from the new Salisbury Hotel in-lobby computer. Its terrific.
So far, I had lunch, and I looked at eleven lots.

You should not eliminate anyone as a possible source.
You can certainly determine whether or not a particular coin is desirable.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Wow! I hope you didn't take that to heart!

Wow! I hope you did!!! One less competitor. Of course, we don't go after the same lots anyway. Now, if I could get Slumlord to take that advice....
Actually, I have. In truth, Stack's has not been a particularly good source for Dahlonega and New Orleans No Motto gold over the last couple years.

Forget it, Mr. 1827! Ain't gonna happen! You're right about the first part, though. Everyone, stay away from Stacks! Ain't nuttin but trouble found there in New York City!

(Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)

A freind asked me to view a few of the Stacks coins in this upcoming sale in ohio, and I can tell you some of the pieces in this collection were absolutely choice, fresh and superb. It was some of the freshest stuff I had seen in a while especially after walking several bourse floors. Some of the Barber Halfs were awsome, also several nice early type and seated type as well.

I don't believe that they do, but I am prepared to be corrected (or ridiculed and beaten) if I am incorrect.

Thanks. More importantly, what did you have for lunch?

The Ford + Currency session would perhaps best be described as 'interminable'. They started at 6:30 PM and by the time they finished the paper money session it was about 2:30 AM, which surely tested even the most fanatical and obsessed collectors among us.
The Ford session included Betts Medals which seemed to go sort of as expected in price, followed by the colonial restrikes and copies which went generally a bit low with a few noteable exceptions including thew Good Samaritan Shilling at 40Gs.
Last night's session (the Dark green catalog) was hot and cold (in price, not ambient temperature). We bought some cool early type. The PCGS really-old-holder AU55 Flowing Hair Dollar ex-Garrett went for $67,500 hammer to a collector.
I'm going to write this up for our website later today and add hundreds of anecdotes and witticisms, including the one about the guy dressed like Hugh Grant in the movie-theater scene in 'Knotting Hill'.
Kevin - I didn't write down what 203 went for - sorry. It sure was pretty though.

My misery is your gain, I guess, as I will get this thing written a day early.
Since when do you have to be incorrect to be ridiculed and beaten around here?
What's the source for your "sort of" Russ? You're not the kind of guy to deal in non-facts from what I've seen of your posts.
There was a single Stack's event, namely the Ford Hard Times tokens, where ANR took the photos.
If that's Russ's "sort of," I'm happy to let him off the hook
