2000 Half Pound of Fine Silver Round

Does anyone know what a 2000 "Half Pound of Fine Silver Round" is? The obverse has an eagle with a shield and a row of 5 stars, over four, over 3, over 1. The front has the words "United States of America" and "Half Troy Pound Fine Silver" with a figure that looks like the one on Walking Liberty coins. Any ideas?

Sorry, could you tell me what spot means? Is it worth $70 or more, do you think?

Spot means that it's only value is in the silver bullion it's made of. Silver "spot" price is currently at $12.52 per ounce and I believe there are 6 troy ounces in a troy half pound? If that's true then the spot price of your piece would be $75.12

My humble '63 mint registry set, not much, but it's mine!
  • I've got two of these, gold plated, Franklin Mint. I'd offer to sell it to you, but my Mom gave it to me, so thats a no go image
What do you think, Mr. Bigglesworth?

  • I believe 10 troy ounces to the pound. Could be wrong though. So half is 5 ounces of silver

You are wrong. There are 12 Troy ounces in a Troy pound.
