1897 Morgan

I had a lady call me today in response to an ad I put in the paper for coins. She sold me a bunch of stuff she had since the 1950's. A couple of the coins were Morgans. On of them, a 1897 Morgan has a huge die crack running from the "U" in "United" to the "A" in "America". It is a very nice looking coin but I don't know anything about Morgans (I only wanted the wheat cents but ended up acquiring everything from SMS's to Morgans to wheaties to rolls. Any help? Here is a picture of part of the crack...

Legend cracking, particularly on the reverse, is very common among most dates of the Morgan series. While they can be useful, as each is unique, in determining a variety, only a small fraction are worth a premium. In general, there needs to be actual die breaks (metal loss) to warrant such attention. I do not recall any reverse breaks for that date.
