NEWPS - not greyside

Went to 2 shows today: New Haven and West Haven (about 6 miles apart).

New Haven usually is on the 2nd Sunday but moved 'cause of Mother's Day and impnged on the West Haven date. Typical liteside stuff at New Haven with about 60 dealers present. Two dealers were mostly darkside but neither had anything that caught my eye. In and out in about an hour.

Over at West Haven only about 8 dealers, normally 20-25, including Allen Berman. Spent 3 hours at his table. These 3 were among some of the goodies I got.

Oh - and Jeff Zarit from Texas attended both shows as a buyer. I've never seen anyone go thru an inventory as quick as he does, buy a few things, and move on.

1st up is 1833 Bolivia 8 Soles. Check out the legend and date.

3rd is China dollar c.1912. Has a small struck thru error at rim. Not sure if pix are in correct orientation.

Iran is struck pretty well for the type - the lion has a face. I like it, I'm going to add one to my collection one of these days.

I'll chime in too - because I like that Bolivian - I have never seen that one before.
    Nice grab

  • The rim on the Bolivian sort of looks like a 'rope' effect - pretty cool. image

Probably to save on calories spent during the process. image
