Let's see if anybody else can figure out lazy ways to make icons or cutouts similar to Shylocks but with less effort.
Starting with this
image
Then using the "cut out same color" feature of Picture-It 99
image
then pasted on a blue background
image
and then clone picture with a blue spot to clean up and spillover (note how the statue of liberty one was cleaned up)
image
and then cropped with edge fade for the last one.
image
Total time <15 minutes. image I posted it step by step and picked a collage just for the fun of it just to show how easy it is, but it would work with any cameo.

MrSpud - fast work is rarely the best work. For example, your icon below looks like a quick fix lasso job.
Or maybe you used the same Picture-It 99 process.

Notice all the little dots along the edges of the design.

I'd like to see those Picture-It 99 "cut out same color" images at large scale.

I bet your best work, MrSpud, took more than 15 minutes to imagine, formulate, and create.

Now that's what I'm talking about!

True . And by the way, the other ones I did in your last challenge (the liberty, buffalo etc...) didn't use this technique. Rather, I used a black paintbrush to black out the perimeter on those ones. You see, i don't have Photoshop and Picture-It 99 doesn't do as good as a job cleaning up the cutouts as Painshop seems to do judging by yours and others pictures. so I have to be more creative with the techniques. I do have Paintshop Pro (or rather, MrsSpud does) but the only thing I've figured out in that is to adjust color and saturation and stuff like that. I haven't even figured out how to crop in that one. I am spoiled by the user-friendliness of Picture-it 99 I guess.

Here's one blown up of the SAE I just posted in your challenge thread. I managed to figure out how to get rid of the dots around the edges (Namely by clicking on the fields rather than the devices in the "cut out by color" feature). Only now it looks like a solid outline. Also, the technique only works where the coins have enough contrast to be a diferent color. Still, this technique might be useful sometimes.
