star wars series one under magnification

Does PSA always take into account on the series one star wars cards that a portion of a white star may fall on a corner. This would make it appear that the corner is dinged, but in fact, it is sharp. My guess is that they might accidently let a few Gem mint 10s or Mint 9s slip by as lesser grades, but I may be wrong.

I wondered this initially, but after seeing over a thousand examples have come to the conclusion that the variation in grades is more due to individual, subjective grading differences and not on concrete type things like that. I have not seen any that seem to have obviously been downgraded because the star falls on the corner. The magnifier picks that up much more easily than the naked eye...

I've sent in blue ones before and I had no problem seeing the corners under magnification. You can tell the difference rather easily under 10x.
