Napoleonic Medal

France 1807, AE Medal, 40.5 mm, by Andrieu for the Conquest of Silesia. Obverse: Laureate Bust of Napoleon. Reverse (as described by Laskey) “a winged female, allegorical of History, crowned with a laurel wreath, partly undraped, recording with the point of a sword, the conquests of Silesia; on the cubical seat whereon she sits, is a coiled snake with the tail in its mouth, emblem of eternity; at her feet part of a turreted column, inscribed, SILBERBER. Peace, with the olive branch in her hand, is eagerly bending over Victory, and restrains her hand from inserting more.
