The pics look great and the coin looks 65, 64 on a bad day due to the obv field chatter.

Nice color and lustre. Enough nicks and bag marks to knock it to a MS64.

    Excellent

Nice 65, but I wouldn't call it textile.

Its got a bit more that cant be seen in the picture, but I do appreciate the opinion.

With the obv hits, I think it would get MS64.
    I like the reverse though

Looks like two different types of light being used, I'd try to stay away from that., nice detail.

Image looks very good- I would call it a 64, but don't think there's enough textile pattern to call it a true textile...

I agree with the MS64. The toning does very little for me personally.

MS64 at best (a lot of small scrapes).

I would call it a 64 also. I like the pics, but that type of toning does not knock my socks off--- its nice, but not as "kick in the pants" as some of your others.

  • MS64....nice image.......textile is textile gentleman and if you can honestly see a bit of textile pattern which I think we all can then it still qualifies. The amount and quality will affect the price for sure....but it is a bag toned coin with a bit of textile toning....image

Nice frosty toner MS64 with slight textile in the reverse fields. A very nice coin to have in your collection. image

I agree. It is or it isn't.

    64 2/3 rds. + a small toning premium - a very nice coin!

It is--the textile is clear between 2 and 4 o'clock. It's one of those odd Morgans that clearly qualifies for an MS65 grade based on the reverse and the fairly clean cheek--and then you just have to call it 64 because of so many light abrasions in the left obverse field focal area. Too bad--but an attractive coin none the less.image

Here is a better close-up of this 1887 Textile. You can see that the threads in those coin bags must have been really heavy duty.
