Ugly 2006 Silver Proof

LindeDadLindeDad Posts: 18,766 ✭✭✭✭✭
Got in my 2006 silver proofs sets from the mint today. The Kennedy proof has a finger print on it and the case is cracked.
If only one of the sets is bad do I have to send them all back for a replacment?

    Send the whole thing back.

This kind of talk is going to make me think I should open the box and look at the coins. Setting them aside for my daughter, so I guess I will have to open the box as the return period will likely expire by the time she is old enough to appreciate these!
  • No, you do not have to return the whole order. But you do have to return the whole set. Call the US Mint number on a weekday during business hours and you will be put through to someone who can help you with the return process.

If you look at the invoice that came with your coin sets, you will see a return form at the bottom. Just enter the Qty Returned and use the return label on the invoice. Don't expect a replacement right away. They took 6 weeks for a Silver Proof Set returned in 2005 for me.

    Hope this helps.

No, just send the damaged set back.

Don't joke like that with people asking for serious advice. image

Thanks I really did not want to send the whole order in as a friend and I combined our orders. One bad set out of three.
But to be honest the track record is pretty good. I have ordereed sets for over twenty years and this is the first return.
