Anyone know the story behind
this?
I'm certain I've seen these, and it seems like his story is the one I heard concerning them.
If the story is true, I question why such a small size? Were there larger ones made as well?

Those are actually Saudi Arabian, but struck at the Mint (Philadelphia) - They come around on a regular basis. Pretty cool things.

I think these also come in a larger size - double sovereign (almost half an ounce of gold), if I remember correctly.
