I've got some from a roll that seem to have a pitted obverse. As a Vam.
Like the pitted reverse.
Any idea, I'm working on a pic

Pitted dies for 1883 are quite common. It is very common on other dates, too. I have a couple of 83Os with pitting, one of which was a new VAM discovery, but not because of the pitting, but because of doubling on the cap.
