How do I do AT?

ledzep87ledzep87 Posts: 1,108 ✭✭✭
Since there are alot of knowledgeable people out there, I figured that someone could lead me in the right direction. I keep reading posts about AT and NT toning but I need first hand experience. What are some ways that I could tone coins-for educational purposes only; NOT for profitable purposes. I would like to be able to tell the difference so that I do not get ripped off if i ever do decide to buy a toned coin. If you would prefer, PM me with any help that you are willing to give. Thank you!
Great transaction with: Relaxn, Collectorcoins, OKCC

I like the blowtorch method - makes pretty colors and it's simple and quick.
Place coin (out of holder) on couch, bed or some other soft surface, light torch, apply flames till coin is desired colors. image
  • There was a interesting thread on a recipe for toning on this forum, I have not tried it but maybe.....image
2 hard bolied eggs mixed up, onoins, and white vinegar, it showed some wild colors after 6 hrs
I purchased a collection lot of AT's from a local collector ,his coins had that AT look I got them at face value ,Most are silver,I have a few listed take a look. MoJo
p.s I am selling these because they are of only silver bullion value to me,I list a few every week, just to get rid of them,
