what should i do? it`s a medium/long term investment piece for me. for preservation and certainty of value should i get it graded and slabbed? ? would it be higher value in original packaging? it`s awesome, no visible flaws at all.

Option one- Leave it in its original beautiful presentation box.
Option two- Send it in to be slabbed--Pay postage there---Pay postage back----Pay for the plastic slab---- End result---You are out quite a few bucks and it is now in a less attractive case.

I do know what PCGS would rather you do...
definitely "submit" it in order to preserve it. I'm surprised it has survived this many... um.. weeks.

<< <i>Bullion in the mint packaging is the way to go, IMO. >>
I really don't consider these proofs as bullion since the coin changes every year. I perfer to find the orginial mint packing when I purchase these but I will settle for a PCGS or NGC graded coin. Bottom line is everyone of these is about perfect you get a PF70 you'll get more $$$ if it's a PF69 you'll get less $$$ than the mint packing with the COA.
I have a 1999 in the original packaging and it looks just as good as the 2006 shown.
Please explain.

I think that was said in "jest"

He was kidding.. platinum is super non-reactive.
Maybe because I don't care about PR70DC or any of that super grade stuff.....
<< <i>I submit them but keep the original packaging. That way if it comes back as a PF70DCAM, you win!!!! If it comes back as a PF68DCAM, you can crack it out and sell it on ebay, or buy another from the mint and return the the 68 and try again. These hold a hold a huge premium for the PF70DCAM because the competition for the top five registry sets is fierce. Trust me I know, I am tied for 5th in the 1/4 ouncers but because i registered after the current 5th place holder, I don't get listed in the top five list. Gotta get another 70 >>
I know you can get away with it, but it is not terribly honest to return coins to the mint after you submit them for grading.
And apparently the Mint takes returns no questions asked, because there would not be a legitimate reason to return a PF68DCAM coin to the mint.
