Teletrade, Escala and Afinsa

I don't know how many here have been following the Afinsa scandal, but would appreciate any input from knowledgeable folks about any possible fallout to Teletrade. I don't think Escala (formerly Greg Manning auctions) is totally out of the woods yet and have been wondering how this could impact Teletrade. Will consignors be leery of sending them coins? Will bidders be leery of clicking that credit card payment button? I've been buying from Teletrade for over seven years and have the utmost trust in their integrity. Should that change?

I have deposited checks issued by Spectrum this week for a total in the five figures and they have cleared without problems.

Although I have not received a check from Teletrade myself recently a source that is a constant consignor has reported no problems whatsoever with their settlement checks.

I've gotten quite a few excellent deals through Teletrade. You just have to know what to look for, know your market values and wait to bid until the very last seconds.

Thank you WTCG! This is the sort of info I'm looking for. I'd sure hate to see Teletrade go down because of this and hope everything is resolved in their favor. I imagine that Escala will take a rather large hit financially, but hope that their involvement was only peripheral.

Teletrade will be fine even if the wheels come off of Escala. Teletrade (and Bowers, Spectrum, etc.) have value as going concerns and would be shopped to a new owner(s) rather than shuttered.

You're welcome. I have full confidence in Spectrum and I encourage everybody to deal with them as they normally would. Teletrade and Spectrum still have a great financial backing and lots of cash on hand to handle their accounts payable.
