What Does Triangle (Privy Mark?) Signify on Reverse of this 1651-A France Louis XIIII Ecu ??

I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me what the significance of the triangle (Privy Mark?) located at 4:00 on the reverse of this pretty 1651-A France Louis XIIII Ecu below the word Domini??
I believe that the mintmark of A at 6:00 on the reverse represents the Paris Mint. I wonder if it could be some type of assayer or engraver mark, or if it signifies anything that may attribute additional scarcity to this specific coin, as I don't see this in the reference photos for this issue in the Krause & Mishler World Crowns and Talers (1601 to Date) Book.
Thanks in advance for whatever light you may be able to shed on this!!

<< <i>Kuhli and GDJMSP: Thanks very much for sharing your expertise and for helping me to better appreciate this new 1651-A France Louis XIIII Ecu!!
I very much appreciate your assistance!!
I am afraid to admit that my "expertise" is limited to a slight advantage in knowing where to look to find the answers. www.cgb.fr has an immense wealth of information on French coins, especially if you can navigate your way around their site and uncover the archives of old on-line auctions. They have the last 12-15 auctions still accessible, and each auction has several hundred coins, each with images and detailed information (both in French and very poor English). a coin very similar to yours, but without the star on the obverse
If you run the information through a translator, somewhere in the description it mentions the star, and that the mintage of the pieces with the star (like yours) is 898,075.
