www.selltheroyals.com - new website devoted to David Glass

....although not many may care, the Royals have become the laughing stock of baseball. What was once a proud organization, has now been reduced to barely fielding a minor league team.

If interested, check out this new website.....there is trouble brewing with the fans in KC, and David Glass is the target.

Please note, I am not affiliated or "shilling" a website - just thought it was something going on that some would enjoy seeing.

It must be terribly frustrating to be a fan of a team who's owner seems completely oblivious to putting a quality team on the field.

I wonder what keeps him doing it? I can't help but think it's making him money, otherwise, why would he still be involved? A bit of pride in owning a MLB team, even one that has been suffering as of late, must be part too.

But it seems apparent he isn't a baseball fan, I can't recall any reports of his ever attending a game, and he seems completely removed from the baseball process.

Has he ever said what draws him to keeping the royals?
  • It's simple--keep the payroll really low and collect the luxury taxes from the Yankees, Bosox and Mets. I'm sure with that he's eeking out some profit and if it makes money he'll keep it.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

He says he's a "baseball guy" and loves owning a team.

My guess is that he loves the revenue sharing money he continues to pocket, without spending it on players, scouting, and development.

Hopefully that website becomes a household battlecry in KC!!!

Frustrating, heck ya......we've lost a whole generation of kids who have no clue that the Royals used to be a classy and winning organization.

    # is right - with the income reports from Forbes, we are all beginning to understand what's happening with our team.

It's incredibly sad to see what has happened to the Royals. I remember when I was very young, a new baseball fan, watching the Yankees and the Royals in the 1977 Playoffs. That was a real fun time being a fan and something I would enjoy seeing the rivalry renewed. Good luck to Kansas City getting the Glass family to sell the Royals...and STAY in KC to rebuild a competative team.
  • I feel for ya Dallas. Until the Royals get sold to someone who cares about the team--someone who cares about the product that is put out on the field, the Royals will continue to be the whipping boys of MLB. What is even scarier is with what has happened to Mike Sweeney--arguably the only name people may recognize on the Royals, KC could be looking at an even worse scenario in the next few years. Sweeney's making 11 million this year and may never play again. I don't see Glass offering decent money to anyone after Sweeney's injuries.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

  • Thanks for the link to the website. A good read. "The Glass Era Stats" is very interesting.
Just what the hell is going on with Greinke?

I've seen a lot of good talent go through here in AA Wichita and then on to free agency.

Hopefully someday you guys can start with a clean slate and get things going again. Even though i've thoroughly enjoyed all the
misery in KC, it has gotten way outta hand.

After Avron Fogelman had some bad real estate deals, he was forced to sell his portion to Kauffman. Kauffman's health was failing and with no baseball minds running the team, it slowly slipped away.

It's a shame because back in the day, KC's fans were right up there with STL's.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I actually hear this from most Cardinal fans I talk to.

Being across the state from them, it is tough to root against them, as they seem to have done everything the correct way.....heck, even Pujols has a normal-sized headimage

I do look forward to the day that we will meet on a competitive level again.

As for Greinke, no one really knows.......emotional issues is all we ever hear. I think he was just pushed too hard a too young of an age. You never know what a 19 year-old is going to turn into.......we all we blockheads at 19-20, but fortunately most of us outgrow it.

    Hey Dallas,

    Here's a tough question.

Who will be the Royals All-Star representative?

I've been working on that one for a few days now.

The Royals seem like the last stop for guys before they are out of the league. To not have someone better than Doug M. to give 450 ABs to is rediculous.

Sadly my favorite team is quickly closing the gap on the Royals.

Wow, Glass bought the Royals for only $95 million. He could probably sell the team for $200 million to some Texans who would move it to San Antonio.

The Nationals just sold for $450 million. Sadly, Glass is going to get a cut of that windfall to line his pockets further.

Safe bet is Grudzelaniak (sp?). Soriano is in the National League now, meaning a 2nd base job opens up on the all star team. All depends on who gets voted in to start. You know Guillen is tabbing Iguchi if he doesn't get voted in.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if a pitcher like Mike Wood or Elmer Dessens gets the 'honor'.

  • Actually, I hear there's a growing movement to write-in Alex Gordon as the Royals All-Star rep!!!image

I wonder if you can be voted to an All-Star game without ever having played in a MLB game?.....maybe only in a Royals uni!image
  • Now that would be a feat--a player's major league debut is in the All-Star game. Gotta go get me some ballots...
