Stamped Fine Gold Test at least 18K maybe 22K.
64.2 Grams (heavy) Melt @ 688.30 = 1065.65

All I know Is I have the 15 & 20 years medal too, the 20 is engraved 1944, so that makes the 25 1949.
At least in 1949 you got real gold for 25 years of service. Not much of anything else though.

Smitty, that looks like something that would have been presented to a Trooper. Why not talk to someone at The "E" Troop Barracks up the road. someone there should know.
Only other possibilty I can think of is N.Y. National Guard, but a 25 year career in the Guard is rather unusual.
Maker Dieges and Clust out of N.Y.C. was a major competitor to Bastian Brothers in Rochester. Perhaps records still exist for the former.
