I know there a lot of dealers on this board but I want more of an objective opinon from an individual point of view so if a dealer posts a response then please make the opion as if you were an individual collector and not a dealer. Say a collector wanted to sell a large portion of their collection and with all of the crap going on with Ebay right now the collector wanted to consign coins to an auction house. My question is which of the major auction houses would you use and why?

<< <i>In a number of instances it would depend upon what type of coins were involved. For the most part, however, I believe that the top two auction houses are ANR (disclaimer - I do part time consulting/work for them) and Heritage. >>
You can take Coinguy1's advice to the bank, even though he is a professional dealer. He's an honest guy.

As Mark noted, it really depends on what coins you have. Big ticket items should go to ANR or Heritage. For lesser lights you might try the DLRC guaranteed auction program. We trimmed some fluff a few months ago have found the DLRC GAP a mostly hassle free paid in three weeks experience.
