Question about "painted" gold coins...

I have an opportunity to purchase some 1/10oz gold eagles.... but they are painted on the surface. I just want them for the bullion... so what is a good way to remove the paint from them? Im getting them at a very cheap rate also.

Acetone, it should remove the paint, and it won't hurt the coins.

Are you sure they aren't enameled rather than painted? It may be more difficult to remove than just soaking in acetone.
