My butt ugly PEACE is a BAR WING VAM

Lightening the scan and deepening the contrast, I'm able to now see that my butt ugly PEACE dollar that I want to "salvage" really is a VAM.

It's a 1923 BAR WING. See close up of this scan.

not sure trying to salvage the coin will help much
that patina looks mighty dark and thick
strip that and you strip all mint luster.

I am not so sure that is the bar wing. It should be clashed and what I see looks like a toning spot that's not the right shape for VAM-1o.

It has metal sticking up above the wing by 10x loupe. I know this is rare VAM. But when I saw coin close up with 10x loupe, I took some more scans and there's definately extra metal there.

Here is what it should look like and there should be that clash coming out of it up toward the ray.

Look on the obverse. Die cracks there are unique to the variety.
