In the words of Emeril.... "BAMM! ... Oh, yeah, babe!"

I'm too ecstatic to come up with anything else to say so I played around in photoshop instead...

Allow me to be the very first to congratulate both you and the rest of the Oiler Nation on a huge series win, AND admit that I was totally wrong about your team. I didn't think Edmonton played all that well in the series against Det. (just thought Det. played worse), but the Oilers really played inspired hockey for most of this series against the Sharks.

The Ducks series should be an absolute barn burner. I'm really looking forward to some top flight hockey for the next couple weeks.
  • I am glad the Oilers won too, they beat my Wings, even though many do not see it, that series in itself was a good one, the Oilers just got the bounces when they counted. The Cup is going back to Canada, only as long as Barry Melrose does not say so, he is a curse!!!!!!!

I don't like seeing my Cup prediction go down the tubes, but good for hockey in Canada. Congrats!

Most people here in Boston were starting to forget that hockey is still going on, but it was nice to watch old friends Joe Thornton and Sergei Samsonov face off in this series. I'm on board with the Oilers now too!

Let me add too, my congratulations...your lads played much better than ours after the 3OT game, I think the Sharks never physically recovered from that one, nor mentally from the Game 4 collapse. All the energy gained in Games 1 & 2 was lost. Like real live Sharks, if they stop moving they die, the hockey Sharks stopped skating and suffered the same fate. But alas, there is some solace in knowing the Sharks are the youngest team in the NHL, and that the experience of getting into the 2nd round will do them good in the long run.

Loved to see at the end of the game as the Sharks were skating off Ville Nieminen greeting each player with a glove tap and a hearty pat on the rear.

Now to go shopping for a top line LW and a D that can QB the power play and we're ALL good...

  • I think the one thing about the Oilers that's been overlooked by many is the leadership they brought in before the season. Having guys like Pronger and Peca in the locker room can only be a good thing.

Just one question for you Knuckles--have the Edmonton fans made a 'Peca Head' section yet? The Islanders did several years back...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Ducks haven't won a game in Edmonton since '99. image

For sure MooseDog, the sharks are going to be way tougher next year..

onlyanumber: yeah they've got a ton of leaders smith, smyth, pronger, peca, rollie.. and guys like harvey and big georges who loosen up the guys in the dressing room with their humour. Good mix we have.. there's always one guy per game that seems to really step it up to be the unexpected star of the game. Takes a load off of our stars like Pronger/Smyth.

Peca hasn't lived up to expectations here and definitely didn't earn his 4mil this year. Until last nights game he hasn't been the old Peca that the Islanders had.. so no 'Peca Head' section.. During the regular season he didn't play with much heart at all. I think moving his family here from NY was a huge blow to him personally as he loved it so much in NY. I think he'll pick it up big time next season.
