One of the nicest looking 1921 Peace dollars I've seen, but it narrowly escaped me!

Mike Printz had this one up, and within moment, it's gone. image Some lucky dude bought it. IMO, this one blows away many many gem Peace dollars out there.

I also agree, this is one nice MS66 coin! I would have liked to buy it, but no where near ready to spend that kind of dough yet....

My bad... a few weeks back they had one just like that in MS66 in the old green holder listed at $6600 or something like that. Do you know what kind of price this one went for?

ER: I agree with you that the coin has great luster and toning for a 1921 Peace Dollar. The slightly weak strike in the hair area over Miss Liberty's ear probably kept it from making MS-65.

If I remember correctly, it was listed for $925, which I would have been glad to take it.

Actually, IMO that is a very nice strike for a 21. They don't come along too often any better!

This is better struck in that area than plenty I have seen in higher holders.
  • It's an amazing strike. I wish I had bought it too. I don't understand why it's in an MS64 holder, do you?

Very nice. Definately not an easy one to find like that.

Notwithstanding that it's a nice coin for the assigned grade, MP takes fabulous pictures so the coin's positive attributes are amplified while some of its grade limiting attributes are somewhat muted.

After much experience, I've learned that is now very difficult for me to fall in love with a coin's picture prior to seeing the coin in hand first.

that's one of the nicest 1921's i've seen. no "Monster" tone but still the appearance of a coin that's original™with a strike that looks close to normal/full for a Peace Dollar. any idea how much you missed it by??

in your honor, i will commence to feel some sympathy pains!!image

  • How much would you pay for one of these? My boss has half a dozen at least MS65 1921 Peace dollars in 2x2's that she doesn't know what to do with. They look much nicer than this coin.
