New Purchase: 1651-A France Louis XIIII Ecu (DAV-3799.1) - ANACS AU-50+ -- How Do You Like Her ??

Well, I'm taking another walk on the darkside, and I'd like my fellow forum members opinions about this most recent purchase, a 1651-A France Louis XIIII Ecu in ANACS AU-50 (DAV-3799.1), that looks very conservatively graded to me based upon the following photos.
Darksiders, what sayeth ye about this latest risk venture that I have gotten myself into...
Thanks in advance for providing me with your guidance!

By the way, what is the significance of the triangle in the obverse field next to the "O" at 4:00?
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
Errr...that would be the Reverse field Jester.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
CoinKat: The only evidence of wear that I can discern from the photos below would be extremely light luster or frost breaks on Louis' upper cheek and forehead area on the obverse, and perhaps on the reverse denticles from about 9:00-1:00

1Jester: Very good question!! I was also wondering about that myself. Looks like I'll have to do some overnight research on this after work.

Yes they are often found weakly struck, but as I mentioned this one seems to have quite a good strike IMO. Here's a couple of MS examples of demi ecus to use as a comparison for quality of strike, luster & wear.
