Bought my first Peace VAM on eBay

Bought this auction and thought the pic looked like a 1925 VAM5. Figured the $14 was worth the risk. Well, it showed up this week, and here's my pic of it. Looks VAM to me, but I'm new to this. Let me know if it is or not.

Good pick up. I have yet to find one of them. Someone said they aren't THAT elusive; so I guess I must be always looking in the wrong place. After this and especially after Jack nailed that 44A over there, I need to spend some quality time browsing eBay, even if they do seem flaky lately.

Anyway, you found the '25 with the missing ray behind the leg feathers. Try to find the '22 with 2 rays there. Hope this is the first of many VAMs for you.

Nice pick!!! You are well on the way to a road with no recovery. Start small and learn the different PUP's (pick up points) and you will be able to build a set of VAM's without too much hassle.......competition is a whole other story!!!

Pick up a copy of the Top 50 Peace VAMs book. It's a good book and gives a little help on valuation. But, if you like the coin, then who cares what it's worth? It was a nice buy for $14.00.

Oh yeah, this one was a no-brainer. But if I see a different one for $75, which guides for $25 non-VAM, how will I know if it's worth it?

I'll buy $14 VAMs all day long.

Simple answer: See if it's on PeaceMan's hit list. There is a quarterly Peace VAM price update on Ash's website. Go to www.ashmore.com to find it. I have not been on the site in a while, so I do not know if it has been updated or not. But, it is a very good guide.

By the way, I found my VAM 5 at my local shop. Graded MS63. Bought it for $28.00. Someone I know of-the name seems to slip my mind right now-has bought several on eBay for common money. Very lucky person. Always gets to good stuff.
