1968 DDR Find - In my cent box for 25 Years

I was told by a member of this board that variety hunting can get addictive, particularly after you make a nice find or two. He was right. I found some DDO nickels in the 2005 nickel sets and caught the bug.
I decided to go through about 35 rolls of cents I've had in a box since I was teen (Mostly BU rolls from 1944 to the late 70's). I found some nice 1962 P DDRs - not huge ones, but nice. But tonight I had my first major cent find - a 1968 D DDR. It was in a mixed roll of 60's and 70's BU cents (so I only found 1). It has nice strong doubling on all of the upper letters on the reverse. The only bummer is that the obverse has a few scratches that will knock an MS65 coin down to the MS62 range. Still, a decent discovery in a box of coins I've had for over 25 years. I'm almost done searching the box of rolls and now I'm thinking about how to get more rolls to search. I definitly got the bug.

It is not the 1955 DDO - but you don't need a microsope to see it either. Coppercoins.com lists this one at $400 for MS65 and $100 in AU. As far as doubled die Lincoln cents go, this is a pretty major one.
But if you really want to see clear doubling -- look at this...
It looks pretty cool -- but the trouble is, this is not from a doubled die. I am 99% sure it is mechanical doubling damage (MDD) that occured when the coin was struck. Most "double dies" on eBay are just common MDD.
