I have clients that are quite serious about the years 1853 and 1870 on US coins and have had inquiries about 1946 and 1952 for all coins.

I'm putting together a year set from 1861. Right now I am concentrating on the Philadelphia issues. I only need the silver dollar and the double eagle and then the first stage will be complete.

I am working on 3. One is tough (and another board member is working on the same set), one expensive, the other is a "sleeper".

It is a somewhat common way of collecting darkside. A set of all the coins struck in the year of your birth from every country of the world.

I seem to be building one for 1899, but totally by accident.

I completed PCGS PR70DCAM (*cringe*) sets for my kids' birth years and will do a century prior sets for them, all mints and denominations business strikes except the 94-S dime, maybe the gold and the regular proofs.

I just got my AU 1851 Gold set put together and boy it was hard! It took 3 years to get just the right coins and I dont think I can stand trying to get all the other 1851's

Yes - a global 1960 set. There are approx 550 coins for the set which includes business, proof, proof-like, essai, piefort, official patterns, etc.

I've also added medals and tokens to the set when I fing them.
