My 1971 Topps Set....Complete at Last!

Well, after many months I finally was able to polish off my 1971 Topps set in PSA 8 or better. I've been waiting for what seems like forever to replace my PSA 7 #635 Bobby Murcer. There's been several that have shown up in the last 6 mos., but I was always the 2nd highest bidder. But this weekend, a PSA 8 Bobby Murcer found a new home in my set.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Congratulations...I am quite jealous (working on the set in 7, myself).

Have taken a bit of a break from it to focus on the 85 football, but it's always great that someone has completed a set.

    bleacherbum,

Congrats on completing your 71 Topps Set in PSA 8 or better!

Whatever happened with your 1975 Topps Mini PSA 10 of card #195 (1957 MVP's Aaron/Mantle)? You had left a prior thread about this card. Did you sell it? If not, are you still interested in selling it?
  • Wow, thats an awesome accomplshment in Psa 8 or better. congratulations on finishing it off, are you working on any other sets? Phil

Congrats ! One hot set indeed....I gave up and sold mine off when I hit around 60% in all PSA 8 about 2 yrs ago. Treasure your black gold, it was a job well done image

Thanks for all the congrats! Now let me see if I can answer the 2 questions. With regard to my 1975 mini's, I still have all of what I had but I'm thinking about selling it off - including the PSA 10 Mantle/Aaron MVP. I'd still like to collect a raw set of the mini's and I have a good start on that effort.

As for getting into anything new, I'm not planning on starting up anything new at the moment but I'll probably still be bidding on some 9's to upgrade my set. I'm sitting at 8.08 right now and I don't have any aspirations to take the All-Time top spot, but I would like to move it up a little higher.
