1935-S Vam 4

Little bit confused what makes a 1935-S VAM 4, a VAM 4.
If coin shows 4 rays below ONE is this an automatic VAM 4? In other words, do all 4 days coins show the
doubling of the branches, leaves, berries, and the eagle's right talon?

Nope. VAM-3 is the originally designated C reverse (extra ray toward the mint mark). VAM-4 has the doubling, which can be very subtle. I have a potential new find third C reverse in to Leroy right now. It has tripled lower rays.
