Nice catch! Pretty coin, nice strike and centering with the PCGS label to boot! Ray

And it only grades MS65??? How they come up with a grade for these type of errors, I'll never understand! Nice strike, no marks of any kind that I can see, great color and it's only a MS65!
    Very nice score, Mitch!

Mark just PM'ed and essentially told me he loved the coin. We discussed the color, which is obviously very unusual for the date, let alone for an off-metal planchet error. And, Leo, you are so right. I can't tell you how many errors I examine where I believe the coins are undergraded by a point or two - both PCGS and NGC coins. As far as this date of Wash quarter goes - gem 65 is a very high grade for one struck on a nickel planchet - they are usually found AU-55-MS64 tops. Thanks for the comments guys.

P.S. Anyone buy a "wild" one as well recently?

Maybe they look at the coin, not the image?

The coin (in hand) has booming luster underneath the color (always better than "painted on" colors). Quite a remarkable specimen actually.
