Rickey Henderson Auction of original image--tried something new...

...and it's a flop! A bust! A boob!

Bomb-ola

Disappointing to say the least. It COSTS a hundred bucks to make those. I figured I wouldn't make any money on it, but wanted to know if this would catch on.
It is really cool looking on canvas. The image is just fantastic--the best Henderson I've ever seen and I collect him regularily. Anyway, what are your thoughts about sports canvases in general? If the price were the same, which would you rather have-- a glossy print, a crystal-matte print, or a canvas?

  • Man, nice photo! That would look nice in a display with my Rickey Henderson GU Bat. Unfortunately, I can't do anything with it at the moment. image

The only time I've ever seen a canvas successfully sell is for artist proof lithos, and autographs....and for autographs, I've seen them sell for less than the authentication fee. I personally didn't realize they cost that much to produce...If I'd known that, I would've bid on some of the autos that caposauction had a few months ago.

You should really consider opening an Ebay Store to complement your web site. I would guess when you find the person who wants that Henderson (and really many of your other items) they aren't going to care if the price is $75 or $150.
