Pop Report in eBay Auction Title . . . A BIG NO NO!

Never had an auction pulled before! Just a '79 topps MIKE FLANAGAN PSA 10 - 1/1. Guess I can't use "1/1" in title!! Here is what the eBay homos had to say:

Dear puttinonthefoil13,

    Yeah, that sucks.

Was a thread about this a couple weeks ago.

    Link
  • Any chance you could squeeze 'population of 1' in the title next time around?
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

I wonder if they will pull my auctions that have pop reports listed in the title ? None of mine are 1/1 but they have the 1 of listed in the title.

that's why I shell out the (ripoff) 50c for the extra line below the title and put something in it such as....

Population of 16 and none higher....for example.

When that last thread was up about this, I had some auctions that also had 1/4 and 1/3. They didn't get pulled.

I think the only reason they pull these is because someone reported it. I don't see the reason for them pulling these.

No more 1/1 for PSA cards in the title.

Try using Pop 1 or Pop 2 in the title.
That is what I've been doing now and it hasn't
    been pulled yet.
  • put PSA population 1 of 1, if it'll fit, and it I think it'll fly
    Always buying 1984 Ralston Purina PSA 9s and 10s I NEED 19,21, and 29!!!

Eagle Eye Kid has the right idea--just put "POP 1" instead of "1/1" in the title (it's only 2 more spaces in the title). All serious PSA/graded card collectors will know exactly what it means. You can then be more descriptive in the description section.
I think "1/1" (especially in the eyes of the ebay police) implies it is and will always be the only 1 ever like that--and that may fool the more novice collectors out there. After reading these threads, I now agree that the term "1/1" should be limited only to cards that are trully stamped "1/1" as they WILL always be the only 1 of that particular card. POP reports change--stamped "1/1"s don't change.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

Now was this really a necessary comment? To refer to eBay employees as homosexuals in a derogatory manner is an ignorant display of intolerance. Please keep your bigoted comments to yourself.

The smart money is against anyone who insinuates that a poster with a picture of Bob Dylan as their icon is a homophobe...

Please don't tell me that that includes home-made 1/1's where some jackass stamps 1/1 on all his junk cards...

I agree whole heartedly. There's no room for such an inflamatory remark.

I'd like to see an apology instead of, what, accusing someone of being a Hamas terrorist, too?

I guess I'm out of here for good if this isn't retracted...

I agree as well...That comment was in very poor taste and not necessary.

  • Many apologies, fellas. Very poor taste, indeed, and ignorant on my behalf.

    Yet E-Bay allows this

got a card graded by a lesser company, just mention PSA in the title and no one stops it.
