Does anyone know what this is?

Is it a Franklin Mint thingy? It's gold and weighs .25 ounce and is marked .900. I imagine it is worth bullion only, but I'd like to know what it is before it is set float on the waters of the Bay of E. Input appreciated!

  • The Franklin Mint has a distinctive lower case f mint mark.
This one appears to be a modern private issue of some kind.

I agree with Dentuck, a modern medal, probably to mark the five hundredth anniversary of Columbus's voyage. The medal commemorates the King and Queen of Spain (Aragon and Castille) King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. I'm not convinced the Coat of Arms is correct though. It is not a Franklin Mint product.
