GERMAN EMPIRE medallion of Alfred von Lindheim

I believe this is a death medal honoring German nobleman Sir Alfred von Lindheim, who held the
hereditary title of Ritter ("Knight", below a Freiherr or, loosely, Baron). Lindheim was a
Landtagsabgeordneter or Parliamentary delegate involved in railway construction at the turn of
the century.

The medallion measures 43mm by 65mm (about 2-1/2 by 1-3/4 inches), and is made of bronze that
has toned with age to an eye-pleasing chocolate brown. One side features a profile portrait of Alfred
von Lindheim in a formal tuxedo jacket with a bowtie, diplomatic sash, and award or decoration on
his left breast. The legend bears the date 1906 in Roman numerals, and reads, Alfred - Ritter - v -
Lindheim - MCMVI
.

The other side shows the estate at Ullersdorf bei Glatz, with the date 1836 in Roman numerals
(MDCCCXXXVI).

The medal weighs about 65 grams. An interesting piece of Imperial German memorabilia from
before the Great War. It has been out of my possession for about three years (passed along to another collector).
