This stroke from NAXCOM sends me the wrong card and...

...acts like I'm being a bother to him because I want a refund. I ordered a PSA 10 1991 Upper Deck Luis Gonzalez and he sent me a BGS 9.5 instead. He is going crazy telling me how it's not a big deal and that the BGS card is worth more which I am not concerned with. I just don't collect BGS and am working on a PSA 10 1991 Upper Deck Set Registry.

HIM:

<< <i>Hi Geoff. Do me a favor. Either accept the card by indicating you have received it or refuse the card and send it back but please don't leave it in limbo. This is the first time in my history selling cards that a person actually complained about getting a better card. Perhaps you are new at this but ask anybody and they will tell you that BGS graded cards are worth more than PSA. >>

ME:

<< <i>I am working on a PSA 10 set of 1991 Upper Deck which is why I purchased the PSA 10 card as stated in the title. I will be sending it back for a full refund. >>

HIM:

<< <i>My photo which is clearly shown on the site, shows a BGS not a PSA. If you would have taken the time to click on the little camera that says "SELLER'S OWN SCAN"you would have seen that the card is clearly a BGS. Wow! all that for $7.50 huh? Hardly even worth the trouble. >>

I wouldn't ask anybody on these forums about that.

wow, F that company. The attitude alone will cause me to never do business with them.

You always wonder how people can rack up 800 negatives on ebay. They must have the same attitude as this guy.

That demeaning tone to his e-mail really shows his maturity level. What's his screen name or company name to avoid him in the future?

Naxcom is a waste of time. The website is incredibly hard to navigate and then you have to deal with idiots like this seller.
  • Naxcom isn't a bad idea in theory. However, it never fails to disappoint. You cannot have guys deciding the condition of their own raw cards. Plus, the whole vintage area is made up of the dealers we all know. You have a better chance at a discount if the dealer doesn't have to pay Naxcom fees. It's just easier to telephone the people with worthwhile stuff. I'm always left with a bad taste in my mouth after a Naxcom purchase. I won't buy there. Ebay has a better selection and some legitimate auctions unless it's 10 cent post week.

I think you are painting with too broad of a brush. I have consistently been a top 10 seller every month on Naxcom this year. I have sold cards to a large number of board members and I have never had any complaints. Like ebay, you have to be careful who you buy from. As far as pricing, I don't think it is any higher on Naxcom than on the websites of any of the large dealers. You have to keep in mind that there is a cost to maintaining a large inventory. I currently have over $200,000 of cards listed on Naxcom. Buyers get the convenience of paying a fixed price for the cards whever they would like instead of having to wait for a card to come to auction on ebay. It's a different model. Some people prefer ebay and others prefer Naxcom.

I have got some great deals on graded bowmans in there in 7's. I didnt find it any more difficult than ebay to search for cards. I just typed in 1950 Bowman PSA7 in the search and I was off to the races. I have bought about 6 differant items on there, I have been pleased with all of the cards and the deals I got. I dont think we should be knocking any decent facilitator to our hobby.

That being said, calling somebody a "stroke" was pretty funny.
Now looking for a 1950 Bowman Baseball Box as pictured below.

  • I have bought hundreds of cards on Naxcom, many from Mr. Barkus, and have always had great luck. A few problems with other sellers with cards not in stock, but I am issued a complete refund. No more of a problem than Ebay. I need to say that David Barkus at www.southfloridasportscards.com is a great dealer and always has fair prices on the cards I need. Thanks
