This is my first giveaway, and its for young numismatists (ages 16 and under) only. It's OK for Dad or Mom to post your YN's guess, but only YN's are eligible. TWO guesses per forum member, unless you have 2 YN's - then you get 4 guesses.
The first and runner-up prize (AWARDED ONLY IF YOU MISS BY ONE POINT ON THE SCORE) is a raw uncirculated and lustrous original franklin silver half dollar - 1958-D from an original roll. The first I call MS63, and second MS60 - possible BB for some harsh bag marks.
Entries accepted through Sunday, May 21 at 3: PM Pacific Time - OR UNTIL SOMEBODY HITS THE EXACT SCORE!
Here is the contest:
I bought 100 dollars in halves from the bank this week for my YN to look through. You guess the results of the search by guessing the final score, figured as follows:
1. For each 90% half dollar (1964 and before), 9 points
2. For each 40% half dollar (1965-1970), 4 points
3. For each coin over the bank's count of $100 (or 200 coins), add 1 point
4. For each coin under the bank's count, subtract 1 point
The closest to the actual points from the search wins.
*** ACTUAL RESULTS: HERE IS WHAT MY YN'S FOUND IN THE $100.00 OF HALVES:
1. 90%, 1 COIN = 9 POINTS
2. 40%, 6 COINS @4 POINTS EACH = 24 POINTS
3. THE BANK GAVE US 4 EXTRA COINS @ 1 POINT EACH = 4 POINTS
TOTAL IS 37 POINTS.
NO ONE HAD 37, TWO GUESSERS HAD 38, NO ONE HAD 36. SO, IT'S A TIE BETWEEN zrlevin and gemstatecoins YN Nathan.
I award first to zrlevin, as he guessed first, and second to Nathan.
Please PM me your mailing info and I'll send the coins out by Wednesday!
Thanks all for playing!

Brother: 32 26
For Dylan(13)- 43 and 54
They just went to the Panpac show in Pittsburgh last weekend and loved the coins for kids program and auction. The younger one went for a grab bag and got some $1 bills(one was a star) and the older one won a gold plated 1943 Walking Liberty Half. They really loved the auction!!! Great idea!
