Playing Around with PSA Forms

Somebody posted on how to do this once so I started playing around with the HTML on the PSA Submission Forms that you download from the Submission Center. I figured I would post this here so that people can email me if they would like a copy of it for their own submissions.

I fixed a few things that always frustrated me about the forms. First off, I expanded the numbered rows from 25 up to 100 (Many people have posted on here about how to submit more than 25 cards on the form). You can make it any number you want with a little cut and paste. Next I expanded some of the width's of the rows such as Card Company, Card Name, and Variety (Variety is always the one I run out of space for, especially with modern cards). I also replaced all the places that had "_______" (such as grading fee calculation) with a box that you can type in from your computer. The only part I could figure out was the part on the top that says "Package Information". Everytime I tried to play with that, it screwed the box up weird so I left it alone. So basically, this entire form you can fill out before you print it and then just sign it and fill out that package information part and it's ready to go.

Now, the Submission Number on top and the section with your name and address, you'll need to change that on the HTML part. It had all my info their but that does you guys no good. To do that, click on "View" on the windows browser and then "Source". Scroll down a little and you'll see the parts I changed to "Your Sub #" and "Your Name" etc.. Replace that with your info. Also, to get the correct Submission Number, you'll need to actually downlaod a submission form from the Submission Center to get a valid Sub #. You don't need the rest of that from you download, just the number, so you can get rid of it after that. When your in the HTML part of my form, you'll see the pattern for the 100 rows. You'll be able to figure out how to add and delete rows.

Here is a link to see what my form looks like:

I'm not really good with computers so hopefully this all works for anyone who is interested. It worked for me.

If anyone wants me to email a copy of it, PM me your email address or email me at wabit2@yahoo.com

Edited to add: I expanded the width of the form so you'll need to change your margins settings in your "Page Setup" before printing. Make it the minimum allowed and it should fit good on the page.

    Steve,

That's great. Thanks for the link and info. You think someone at PSA would have done this. Maybe a paid employee!

    Thanks again, Bob C.

Does anyone know any of the management at PSA that could share this thread with them. Anyone in the history of the threads who contributed in the modifications would recieve fair compensation by PSA if used by PSA. Its amazing that their current form doesn't get upgraded, it has several holes in it.

I emailed PSA about two years ago about this and was simply told it would be send to their IT people (or something to that affect).

As I am in the IT field, I know how little relative time it would take them to fix this problem.

They could easily add a drop-down box to the submission form page that would allow you to select how many cards you are going to send in, and then the form would automatically adjust to that many rows. You could print off a form with anywhere from 1 line to an infinite amount (in theory) in just seconds.

    ... just my 2cents worth

Yeah, I know absolutely nothing about HTML and it only took me about an hour to figure it all out and make the right adjustments. Anyone who knew what they were doing could have done it in 10 minutes.

Can you do this with the autographed baseball form. That one only has 10 lines

  • i did a version of that years ago, i also removed all the unwanted/unneeded stuff at the bottom. The disclaimer, the ticket and autograph grading, etc... keeping only the serive for grading, the return information and anyting pertinate to that submission. Cuts down on a stack of paper and printing. image

Dave, I tried it with the PSA DNA form and I couldn't get it to work. I changed the HTML and refreshed it and it looked exactly the same. I'm not sure what I did wrong but it didn't work the same as the PSA form. I'm sure someone that knows how to could figure it out pretty quick.

for large submissions (over 50), i will use excel. i cut/paste the top portion out of the form online to clipboard and paste it into excel, add all of my submission info, and then i have a standard copy of the bottom of the form i just xerox and sign. if you want to see a sample, email me at LDFerguson@bwsc.net and i'll send it to you. for submissions 50 or less i use the modified HTML form similar to what has been shared on this thread.

    Thanks,

I use Excel also. I think it was SmallStocks and Seinbigd who started the form, and I made some modifications and enhancements. The template has lines for like 30 cards, but adding more is as simple as adding rows and then copy-and-pasting the # column so that it auto-calculates the number of cards for you. I've also set it up so that it auto-calculates the total declared value for the order. I've submitted 10 or so orders with these and have had zero problems with PSA using them.

What I want to do next is to do the part of the form where it asks for "Type of Service", # of cards, CC info, etc. Won't be all that hard, I just haven't had time to throw at it. Right now, I'm in the middle of relocating to Ohio so maybe when that's done.

If anyone wants a copy of my Excel submission template, just PM me.

Steve> Right now, we're in corp/temp housing up in Easton. We're buying a house down in Grove City. My wife starts a new job in Wilmington. I start a new job in Gahanna.

Definitely a brave new adventure - esp. with our first baby on the way due in October.

edited because i see that Wabbitwax included the box on his form..
