Avoid seller top20sports like the plague!!

I neg'd him for charging $15 for shipping around a dozen lots, he waits almost a month to mail then packs them like sardines into a small box and sends using the slowest method possible. I neg'd him after complaining and he retaliated by negging me on 6 auctions (he already left positive feedback on 5 or 6 before I neg'd him). He is an ignorant hillbilly, who can't spell beyond a third grade level and you should avoid bidding on ANY of his auctions.

His listings that you bid on clearly state the following....

<< <i>SHIPPING IN BUBBLE PACK WILL BE 2.00 FOR FIRST ITEM AND 1.00 FOR ADDITIONAL ITEMS, >>

It's hard to tell offhand how many items you won...looks like around 15.....so it would appear that the 15.00 charge you are ranting about is what you agreed upon when you placed your bids/buy it nows.

Toolhaus.org printout of the FB exchanges.

Unless you have more to this story.......I'll be surprised if this doesn't backfire on you and wind up having you blocked by numerous members.

I wouldn't have been upset if he would have sent the items via priority mail. I had to wait approximately a month for my items, partially because he waited forever to mail them and partially because he sent via second class mail. Read my original post more thorough before you take a shot at me.

You came on here blasting the guy for charging your 15.00. You state in your Negs to him that he "Raped you" on shipping and took 3 weeks to mail.

When you bid on the items you knew what the shipping would be so why complain about it now unless you failed to carefully read his terms prior to bidding? It doesn't matter if it cost him 3.00 or 13.00 because you agreed to it when you placed your bid.

Now 3-4 weeks to receive them is ridiculous but how did you pay? check? paypal? Did or does he have proof of when he mailed them?

Regarding your assertion that my post is a shot at you, I looked a bit further into it and saw the info I posted. If it doesn't make your version or side look favorable then you shouldn't have started the thread.

looks to me like you left negative feedback for 15 different auctions, which would mean the seller actually gave you a $1.00 discount from his auction terms.. ($2.00 first auction/$1.00 each additional)..

I have to agree with Goose as well. Maybe it isnt exactly the most reasonable shipping rates, but you agreed to them the second you bid. No reason to neg the guy after you made the choice to bid. If you are unsure of shipping charges or methods, simply contact the seller before placing the bid, but you have nothing to stand on with him or on here by complaining afterwards. I dont blame him one bit for giving you negs right back.

Once again, I think the point I was trying to make was missed. I'm upset about the shipping charge because it took a month to get the package. If I pay an excessive amount for shipping, then I expect the seller to mail the item out in a reasonable period of time AND send it priority mail that would have cost him $6 to $7. Does everyone see my point now or am I wasting my breath?

I agree with gregm.....i hope all who disagree suffer overzealous shipping prices and poor service.

Notwithstanding the excessive shipping, I have to agree with Greg that it shouldn't have taken so long for the cards to arrive. Understanding that all of us have lives outside of cards, it isn't too much to ask for someone to make it to the PO at some point over the course of a week to drop off a package. Priority mail would have been nice too - would still have plenty of money left over to cover "handling". My .02

If a seller takes too long to ship, that is a major problem because then you lose recourse with Paypal in case something goes really wrong with items not being as described. It also cuts into the time to file a claim with ebay (they allow 60 days).

I guess your complaint is that shipping took too long, which is legitimate.

How are the items overall? Did you at least get what was expected? If the items were all good, then you are in good shape. I do not excuse a seller for shipping items late because of what can happen as stated above, but one must really rethink how negs are used--especially because of the retaliation factor.

My question is how did you pay? By paypal? or check?

if by check then perhaps he was waiting for check to clear.

also how does one send 2nd class mail?

Parcel post. Lots of times on small packages it costs almost the same as priority but sometimes if you don't mind waiting a few extra days (!!!) you can save a dollar.

I paid $15 shipping + $3 insurance for a book I needed in a hurry, it got here 15 days later by media mail with no insurance.

I think Greg's wrong about the shipping cost but right about the time of shipping. It should have gone at least priority, the guy was obviously making $ on shipping to make up for low price and high fees.

I paid via paypal almost immediately after the auction.

In Greg's defense the seller in his description mentions "pay by Paypal, shipped tomorrow" in all of his auctions.

Yes the agreed upon shipping was met, but the seller used poor judgement in not shipping promptly and using a lesser form of postage.

On the other hand he does not specify the class of postage, choosing the "standard flat rate shipping" choice in the listings.

I prefer giving 1st Class and Priority options for buyers.

Good luck Greg. He certainly should have sent your items sooner.

waiting sucks, but when it happens to me i think i lived 46 years without it, i can wait another couple of days. leaving someone negative feedback just isn't worth it some time. you just set yourself up for retaliation. it's like if you get into a fight and kick the snot out of someone but he gets a couple shots to your face. you beat him up, but all you have to show for it is a messed up face.

when it comes to negative feedback, i believe this philosopher for the late 20th century said it best:

I have to agree with greg here. The amount of time that went by is inexcusable. Greg's problem was that he highlited the shipping charges in his complaint here and not the long time it took for the items to come. The guy also clearly states in his auctions that he ships next day if paid by paypal.

SO BUY TODAY,PAY TODAY,AND SHIP TOMORROW IF YOU PAY BY PAYPAL

So even with 2nd class mail, at most, 10 days should have went by. And who in the heck uses 2nd class mail amyways? besides this guy?

    Good for you.

Greg most definitely has a point here, waiting a month (!) to ship anything when you are paid for it immediately after the auction ends is very poor service on the seller's part.

I have said that I agree you got shafted on the TIME it took to get your items but you got what you agreed to on the cost whether right, wrong, etc.... Nowhere in his listings does it state that multiple listings will be added and sent priority and nowhere does he give any options. To expect anything above and beyond what is stated in print from your average ebayer is wishful thinking at best. Obviously it's always best to ask the seller a question prior to bidding. If they don't answer or don't give the answer you're looking for...move along....someone else will have it.

Is it not obvious that the guy did not ship the next day?

by not shipping next day he did not do what he said he would. Greg paid the amount and only complained when the items took almost a month to arrive.

Surely even 2nd class mail would arrive sooner had the guy shipped the items when he said he would?
