GAI Labeled cards wrong

Hello
Just want to make you aware.... GAI slabbed a 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken version BGS rejected as altered. They also labeled a card of mine as a white scribble. It is not. They would not answer my email on how they came to that conclusion. I cracked it and BGS labeled it a whiteout. I have another GAI white scribble that is definately not, but possibly a fake whiteout. Any other similar experiences with reputable companies? Not including GEM as they will probally grade a photo shop card I can make.

  • I feel sorry for those companies that grade those Billy Ripken variations. The whole subculture that collects the card, it has all become so esoteric.

I'll just take the FF error and be happy!

I"ve had mistakes from all of the big 3( GAI, PSA, SGC). What counts is how they fix them, and in my experience they've all done well in that regard.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I would feel sorry but they realized after they had my money they took on a job they could not finish.

They told me they could properly grade all the versions I listed to them (13). I then received 5 cards back raw due to lack of info. with credit for next time. Something I didnt want/need as all I wanted was those cards graded. That credit slip was worthless to me. They would not give me a refund. Or even a return email. I also got of the 10 cards back, 3 were improperly labeled as mentioned above. So I paid for 13 cards and got 7.

I just hope the next company that tells me they can, actually can. Kudos to the few have admitted when they cannot. PSA and BGS cant/wont mention specifics on holder as they already graded many versions and listed too generically as there are many versions of the Black Scribble,Black Box ect..so its too late to go back and label more specifically.

BGS and PSA had a messup in past but promply fixed it for me.

Just letting others know about cards labeled wrong or a slabebd card that is apparently fake. Which is the case with a whiteout I own that appears to be a eraser job.
